Dave Michalowski

LCPC, Psychodynamic Psychotherapist

I specialize in assisting individuals and couples with a wide range of relational issues, life adjustments, transitions, and career challenges. I am comfortable engaging concerns over depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, identity development, and problems with intimacy.

Most often the presenting problem in therapy is connected to a larger story where habits and patterns from the past are being played out in the present moment. Recent studies in neuroscience have examined the ways in which our brains naturally choose relational resolution and stability over personal integrity. I find that challenging these accommodations is an empowering moment that opens up a person to stability, strength, and true flexibility. It seems counterintuitive to our brain’s natural survival tactics, but developing a solid, separate self is the path to deeper intimacy and connection with others.

I am a LCPC and have been practicing since 2008. I graduated with my masters degree in counseling psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology.
