I’m writing as a person who comes from painting. By that I mean…you trust your colors and your shapes, your gestures. You trust that something beyond that will come through even if you don’t know exactly what. You know that you are not just decorating the surface. You know that you are saying more…

MA, Psychotherapist

I believe that meaning is shaped within the relational process insofar as the dialogue embodies humility and optimism. I am passionate about understanding the individual and the context they inhabit, which may interfere with their capacity for expressing vulnerability and integrating their identity in a manner that is true to their essence. Our stories as multidimensional beings are deserving of consideration and empathy. It is my belief that the individual can access their resiliency to experience personal emancipation and that they wield the power to change their narrative in a manner that may allow them to experience meaning, and put their purpose into practice.

My work as a therapist involves providing an open space that may allow you to process what you are going through. I am committed to working with the individual through providing trauma-informed care on themes encompassing, but not limited to, the role of systemic barriers in legitimizing racial injustice and trauma, adverse childhood experiences and their influence on the present-day self, culturally responsive psychotherapy and advocacy for South Asian women, immigration, depression, anxiety, chronic loneliness, challenges within the academic sphere, and issues related to spirituality.

I am also particularly passionate about logotherapy, or guiding individuals towards what makes their life meaningful through integrating creative processes (e.g., creative writing) as a way of fostering self-expression. My work as a therapist will be to guide you towards sustaining a deep connection with yourself, and my approach is to respond to each individual’s unique needs with special attention to the interrelationship among mind, body, and spirit.
