In our lives which seem to become more hectic each day, I believe something significant can occur when we slow down and invite someone to truly see and know us. Taking steps toward understanding and making sense of your life story is a brave task, complicated by the difficulty of finding someone who will walk alongside you during your journey. To engage you in this process which takes time and courage, I strive to create a warm and empathic space where trust is earned. I work from the foundational belief that humans make sense; while we all have different lenses formed by unique experiences, I can listen well to understand your perspective by prioritizing curiosity over judgement.
In the therapy space, I tend to draw from psychodynamic, relational/attachment theory, and narrative therapy approaches. Over the last several years, I have been privileged to hear the stories of people who are diverse in culture, ethnicity, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. My prior therapeutic experiences have engaged mental health concerns including depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, and grief and loss. I have also worked with court-involved individuals as well as those experiencing homelessness.
While we may all inevitably experience seasons of suffering throughout our lives, I hope to carry your burden with you so you don’t suffer alone. I commend you for getting this far in the process of looking for a therapist and invite you to contact me so we can discuss how I may be able to help.
